We're super excited to be working on a large scale environmental signage project with RailCorp for Newtown train station, due for completion end of 2011 – so imagine how thrilled we were to find ourselves in the secret garden that is the former Newtown tram depot on a routine site visit. Tucked away behind the station, this huge, empty, run-down expanse has been overrun by plants giving the space an other-worldly feeling. Add to that the puddles of rain, faded graffiti and simply the gigantic scale of the structure and we were beside ourselves. Wonder how many other hidden spots there are like this in Sydney?
